Sustainable Christmas Trees – local businesses invited to sponsor a tree

Stratton St Margaret Parish Council recognises the need to be sustainable and protect its environment and this year the Council has purchased its Christmas trees from a growing forestry operation.

The operation provides high quality British sourced and locally grown Christmas trees in an environmentally, sustainable manner as a renewable resource ensuring fresh and long lasting bespoke Christmas trees.

A number of small trees are purchased each year to create the Christmas grotto for the Council’s popular Christmas Fair event, which takes place on Friday 2 December 2016 at Grange Leisure.  This year the Council will progress the sustainability pledge by purchasing rooted trees which can be planted out into its open spaces for re-use the following year.

The Council is looking for local businesses to sponsor a tree for future years and plans to display these around the gateway entrances to the Parish. If you are interested in sponsoring a tree, please contact David Boase, Senior Parks & Open Spaces Officer: david.boase@strattonstmargaret.gov.uk
