During the lockdown I have taken on a new role, liaising with volunteers, voluntary groups, vulnerable residents and by the guidance of the Swindon Borough Council been able to supply a support network to local residents. I have to say, that the local council have stepped up to the mark and are working tirelessly to help and like me and all of the Parish Staff, undergoing new roles and responsibilities while having to juggle the commitment to our own home and family needs.
We are blessed to have partners like Stratton Juniors helping those in need of a hot meal and our volunteers delivering a personal service of food deliveries of medication, and hear many good reviews of local pubs providing a hot food take away service.
Our Grounds team have not stood still during this time and those team members who have not been asked to shield or self-isolating are working hard to ensure the open spaces are clean and safe for all those that can use during their exercise routines and dog walking necessities.
This is a new way of working and living for all of and takes a lot to adapt to, but Stratton St Margaret Parish Council is here to help, if we can, where we can….we will. Just call 01793 823761.
