Stratton St Margaret Parish Council

 

Part-Time Financial Accountant

1 day per week (7.5 hours per week)

Stratton St Margaret Parish Council is looking for a part-time experienced qualified Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will prepare, examine, and analyse financial reports and records and create effective and cost-efficient financial practices and procedures for the organisation.  This is initially for a one year fixed term contract.

Main responsibilities are to provide an overall check on accounts and identify discrepancies on balance sheet, report on budget expectations and unexplained liabilities.  The Accountant will ensure the accounts are reconciled regularly providing high level advice to Finance Officer and Clerk.  A priority is producing the monthly reports for Council on budget performance and subsequent forecasting and projections.

We are looking for a qualified (CIPFA, CIMA, ACA) Accountant or advanced degree in accounting finance is desirable, or Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians with more the 5 year post qualification will be considered.

The role will be up to 7.5 hours per week with occasional attendance at evening meetings.  The role is at SCP 42 on the pay scale which equates to £37,306 pro rata per annum.

Grange Bar

Zero Hours Contract Bar Staff – £8.58 per hour inclusive of holiday pay

All applicants must be aged 18+ and happy to work evenings and weekends.

We are looking for bar staff working on a zero hours contract at Grange Bar in Stratton St Margaret.

The Bar job role includes:

  • Customer services, greeting and serving customer’s drinks; taking food orders
  • Re-stocking the bar and rotating stock
  • Promoting our weekly meat raffle and selling raffle tickets
  • General cleaning tasks and daily maintenance, including filling and emptying the glass washer, shelf cleaning, glass polishing, barrel changing
  • Keeping the internal and external bar tables cleared and clean

Applicants must be smart and presentable, display great customer service and be happy to clean, tidy and carry out general bar work. It’s a physical role, changing barrels and lifting glass washer trays as well as conversing with customers. Cash handling means that you need to be numerate and capable of cashing up.

HOURS : We operate 7 days a week, from 4pm to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday, 1pm til late at night on Fridays and all day Saturday and Sundays.
